Happy Halloween and 35 Weeks

Today Curtis is 35 weeks old. I had a prenatal appt today and luckily confirmed he is head down, which makes me excited, no c-section hopefully :) So now, I can kind of figure out which body parts are sticking out. I'm pretty sure I can tell when he's moving his shoulders, I definitely know when I can feel his little butt, and I can feel where his legs are when they kick my diaphragm.
I love days with prenatal appts because Isaac usually can take the whole day off. We had a lovely date day, a sushi lunch, thrift store shopping for Isaac's Halloween costume and then dinner and handing out candy to all the kids in the neighborhood. I love Halloween so much more living in a neighborhood than in our old home. This was the first year we were really able to do anything. The first year, we had just a few trick or treaters, last year, Isaac was deployed and I worked and I don't think I had any trick or treaters. This year, we decorated our porch with lights, jack-o-lanterns, and Isaac put glow stick eyes in our bushes. I made homemade apple cider and we sat on our porch and handed out candy. Sadly, we ran out twice, our neighbor gave us some candy, and then my friend, Victoria brought us over another bag when we ran out again. Next year, we're definitely gonna have to plan better and buy more candy. It was such a fun night!
Here's a few pictures from the day

I was so excited to find a baby skeleton shirt!

I'm really loving the new lens! My old lens would have never taken pictures this good.

Sadly the only non-blurry picture of us is with Isaac sticking out his tongue, but I still love it!

How far along: 35 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: officially, 29lbs. My goal was 30 or less, apparently I'm going to have to alter that some :(
Maternity clothes: I have maybe 2 shirts that I can wear at the moment that aren't maternity. And I'm growing out of some of the clothes I've been having to wear.
Stretch marks: None so far.
Best moment this week: Handing out candy with Isaac.
Miss anything: Sleeping through the night, this week has been alittle rough when it comes to sleep.
Movement: He moves pretty much all the time, or at least he sits in a way that I can see exactly where he is.
Food cravings: I've had odd cravings like grapefruit a lot lately. I've been eating them almost daily.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Can't even remember the last time I got sick :)
Have you started to show yet: I have a bump, that's usually a little crooked.
Gender: IT'S A BOY!!!
Labor Signs: None yet, thank goodness.
Symptoms: Having to pee about every 30 mins, difficulty sleeping, dizziness and shortness of breath.
Belly button in or out: It's definitely out, and it's really weird when it brushes up against something, I don't like that way that feels.
Wedding rings on or off: I'm officially down to just my engagement ring, wearing them together was getting difficult to take off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Always in a pretty good mood, I can't wait to meet this little guy!.
Looking forward to: Dinner with new friends Saturday night :)

OBX Anniversary Trip, 33 Wk Pic and 34 wk Stats

Last weekend we got to take our first real "vacation" since the 2 days we had together just us after Isaac came home from deployment, almost a year ago. We've been out of town together, we've visited his family in CO, my family and friends, but we haven't gotten away just us in what seems like forever. SO, with saying that, this trip was amazing and much needed!! We went to Nag's Head and stayed in a cute little bed and breakfast one street away from the ocean. Even though I grew up in NC my entire life, I had never been to the Outer Banks, so this was a new and wonderful experience for both of us. I can't believe how close we live, I actually will probably never get over the fact that I live so close to the beach, when I had never been to a beach until I was at least 14. But the Outer Banks, some parts are only an hour, Nags Head was only 1 1/2 hrs, so close that we've talked about making some day trips just to try all the different restaurants. You know that was pretty much one of my favorite things about the trip, considering I'm pregnant and really want to eat about every 2 hrs, sometimes more often, depending on how my blood sugar is doing that day. We had some of the best sea food I've ever had, and at one place, I may have been serve the best restaurant fries I've ever had. I was pretty much in pregnant woman Heaven with all the good food we ate :) Luckily, my husband humors me with that. He also took me to one of the lighthouses, Bodie Island lighthouse, which was really cool, b/c again, even though I grew up in NC, I had never seen a lighthouse. We did spend some time on the beach, but it was too cold to spend much time. But it was very nice and peaceful the few times we walked down to the water. The ocean may be one of my most favorite creations of God, I just love how vast it is. Standing on the beach always reminds me of how big God is and how very, very small I am; it's a good reminder for me.
Anyway, other updates on us, Curtis is 34 weeks this week. I cannot believe that literally, in just 3 weeks he'll be full term and could come. I would be ok with that, one of my nurse manager's, Shannon, keeps telling me that's not ok b/c he'll be a wimpy white boy who will have to spend atleast 2-3 days in the NICU because that's just what wimpy white boys have to do. She wants me to go to 41 weeks. I can't really imagine that right now, not really wanting to think about it, so we shall see. But right now Curtis is doing well, thankfully still letting me sleep most of the time, and not making me sick anymore. We're really beginning to work on Curtis's room, so once it's done, I'll post pictures of it. Isaac's got it painted blue, from the girly pink that was in there and we have the crib set up. A friend of mine will be painting a tree and then we'll put up some shelves and pictures, things like that. I'm looking forward to having that done, although I know if he comes early, it will be ok, he won't be sleeping too much in there for a little while.
Here's a few pictures from our trip last weekend:

My 33 week pregnant belly

This dog just looked like it was having so much fun. I'm pretty sure Peaches would have been petrified if we had her with us and let her off her leash

How far along: 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: officially, 24lbs so far, another reason why I kind of hope I go alittle early.
Maternity clothes: I have maybe 2 shirts that I can wear at the moment that aren't maternity.
Stretch marks: None so far.
Best moment this week: The whole Outer Banks trip, even though that was last week :).
Miss anything: Easily putting on my boots, I'm gonna have to have Isaac help me soon.
Symptoms: Having to pee about every 30 mins, but that's pretty much it lately and heartburn has become more often.
Belly button in or out: It's definitely out, and it's really weird when it brushes up against something, I don't like that way that feels.
Wedding rings on or off: I'm officially down to just my engagement ring, wearing them together was getting difficult to take off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm pretty much always in a good mood, lately.
Looking forward to: Seeing the finished outcome of Curtis's room

Happy Fall and 2 More Months!

I reached my 8th month of pregnancy this week. It's been pretty good, but has come with some interesting pregnancy things. The most interesting, I think, is that my stomach is pretty much always lopsided. Every time I look down, I can see exactly where Curtis is sitting. It's pretty entertaining for me, knowing exactly where he is at all times and being able to feel his little body there. I'm pretty sure he's going to take after Isaac and be a very long and skinny child, which would be nice, cause maybe this kid will not be 9 or 10lbs like I was thinking at one time he would be.
I know I've talked some about how sick I was through the first 2 trimesters, but I've gotten to the point where I can't even remember the last time I was sick, which is such a nice thing. It's been wonderful to function like a normal person, at least as normal as one can when there's a little person growing inside of them. I've been able to take over my normal household things again, and oddly enough, I've missed them. I know Isaac loves the fact that he doesn't have to do the grocery shopping anymore, that may be his absolutely least favorite thing to do.
This has been a pretty awesome month so far. Mom was up here for a few days, and then the next week, one of my most favorite people in the world, Jess, came up to visit for a few days. I had not seen her since I told her we were having a baby back in April, which may be the longest we've ever gone without seeing each other, so it was such a lovely visit! We chilled the first day she was here, then went to the beach and had sushi at the beach. It was so nice to catch up, I've missed her. Also, this month, I officially became a stay at home mama. While I do miss bedside nursing, some, it has been nice to pick up an extra day at the CPC and focus on nursing there. We're right in the middle of 40 Days for Life, and so far, I've seen God do some pretty awesome things in this city as far as women's mind's being changed and babies being saved. I'm enjoying taking Curtis to Planned Parenthood on Wed mornings to pray with my friend, Charlotte. I've prayed for our country and for the end of abortion for years, but there's just something about being there, at that place of murder and evil that really makes it real and breaks my heart, but it's so awesome to see how God is working. I'm hoping that in the spring, I'll even be able to bring Curtis with us.
Next week, Isaac and I celebrate our 2 year anniversary and we've planned on going away to Nag's Head, so pictures will definitely be coming from that trip. I am so excited, we haven't gotten away, just us, since he came home from deployment last year. I know this is going to be such a fun trip!
Here's a few new belly pictures. Our roommate, Christina, has been begging to paint a pumpkin on my belly since she moved in. She did a pretty good job, even though my belly does look a little lopsided from where Curtis is sitting and he kicked some in protest (he really doesn't like anyone invading his space).

 How far along: 32 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: officially, 20lbs. I was not too happy about that since my goal was to only gain 30 and I still have 2 more months to go, but we will see.
Maternity clothes: Pretty much the only pre-maternity stuff I can fit in is my shirts like the plaid one, and that's only if they are not buttoned. I had to buy new tank tops this week because my pre-maternity ones finally are not covering my belly anymore.
Stretch marks: None so far.
Best moment this week: When Isaac told me so sweetly that he wanted to take me away for our anniversary. We had planned on going to DC with part of his bonus, but with the shutdown, we weren't sure he would get his bonus. It finally came through this week, and he decided that since we didn't know what would actually be open in DC, we'd go somewhere else, which turned out to be Nag's Head.
Miss anything: Turning from side to side easily at night, and not waking up Isaac.
Movement: He moves pretty much all the time, or at least he sits in a way that I can see exactly where he is.
Food cravings: The past 2 days, I've been craving a breaded chicken sub from Harris Teeter. I may have to go on Tue before going to the CPC to get one.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Can't even remember the last time I got sick :)
Have you started to show yet: I have a bump, that's usually a little crooked.
Gender: IT'S A BOY!!!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Having to pee about every 30 mins, but that's pretty much it lately.
Belly button in or out: Curtis finally kicked it out sometime last week, as you can see in the lovely pumpkin pictures
Wedding rings on or off: I'm officially down to just my engagement ring, wearing them together was getting difficult to take off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm pretty much always in a good mood, lately.
Looking forward to: 4 whole days with Isaac next week, can't even remember the last time that happened :)
