Weekend With Taylor

Isaac left on his 2nd underway almost 2 weeks ago. While he's gone, I like to travel some, it makes the time go just alittle faster and helps pass the time while he's away.

My first place I travelled to was home to keep Taylor while Jonathan and Melissa went on a weekend getaway. It was so nice to be home for a few days, I haven't really been home since the wedding, so it was nice to be back with my family a few days. I haven't gotten to spend much time with Taylor for almost a year, maybe longer, so it was so fun to get to know my sweet little neice just a litte bit better. Most of our weekend was spent with my mom and dad and Peaches. I brought Peaches home with me and Taylor loved having her around. She almost had rather sit infront of Peaches crate looking at her rather than play with her doll house at Yaya's house.

My 2nd trip was to visit my friend's in Charlotte, also whom I have seen since the wedding. My wonderful friends Jess and Ben allowed me to stay at there house. It was fun trying to get our dogs to get along and seeing Peaches totally disinterested in making friends with them. I so enjoyed geting to catch up with Jess, Ashley and Becky, they are such dear friends, I am so blessed my them.

Since I came home, I have been working on projects around the house, trying to get some things done before I start work in 2 weeks. Isaac will be home in 2 and 1/2 weeks, I am so excited about it. He's taking 10 days leave when he comes home and we're going to Colorado for most of that time. I am so looking forward to spending 10 whole days with Isaac and getting to see the place where Isaac grew up. I cannot wait till he comes home!

Taylor wanted to go with me outside to take Peaches out. She loved getting play with Peaches.

Not really sure what this face is about, but I thought it was adorable :)

She was pretending her blanket was a dress...such a cute girl :)

Our First Married Christmas

This year was our first Christmas together as a married couple, and we were so blessed that Isaac got both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. Both days were so much fun! We cooked both days, all our families Christmas adn holiday treats, sausage balls, chicken dip(which gets better every time I try it) cranberry sauce(which I tried and 2nd time and it was worse than the first) apple pie, manicotti, roast and tons of other goodies, plus I got to use my sourdough starter for the first time on gingerbread waffles Christmas Day morning. Christmas Eve, we went to our church's candlelight service and another tradition, Christmas lights at the beach. We were able to sleep late Christmas morning, then opened gifts from his family. We were able to have some friends over for Christmas Eve dinner, which was tons of fun, i think we laughed the entire night, a lot of the time at the pie that got burned by Isaac's trying to help ;) It was salvaged and still tasted wonderful.

Here's a few pictures from our Christmas

This was one of the displays at the light show at the beach, which was themed mostly with beach scenes.

Our Christmas morning picture, not a great one, but the best we got ;)

The newest additions to our trees. Ornaments from Lydia and the Eden, all 3 penguins which I love!

The after math from Christmas dinner, dishes from the sink to the stove.

We never had time to make Christmas cookies during the weekend, so when Isaac came home from work on Tue, we spent Tue night making Christmas cookies, another thing I got to use my soughdough starter for :)
