Our Lovely Christmas

This past month has been incredibly busy, so hopefully over the next week or so I can catch up on posts, I have at least 2 more to do, but today is our Christmas post. It was so wonderful to have Isaac home for the holidays and get to actually spend them with him.
We were able to continue some of our Christmas traditions, some others, sadly we didn't have time for, and we may have started some new ones :) We made Christmas cookies, one of our favorite things.  They are so yummy, so I ended up giving many away because if not, I'm pretty sure I would have eaten every single one of them.  We both had to work Christmas Eve, but we did at least get to have "dinner" in the car on base.  Neither of us were really hungry though, so we didn't really eat the dinner, but we did get to at least spend time together.
Christmas morning was lovely. We slept late, opened Christmas presents from our families and each other, had wonderful carrot cake pancakes with cream cheese syrup, watched The Expendables 2, then spent the afternoon working together to cook and get the house ready for dinner.
Our friends, the Sibelu's came over for dinner.  I was so excited that Victoria could be home for the holidays as well.  Their daughter is my god daughter, and she may be one of the cutest little girls ever! She was definitely our entertainment for the night. The whole holiday was wonderful.
Throughout the whole Christmas season, something God reminded me of often, through various sermons and my own Bible study, was the fact that He really did come to this earth as a baby. He left Heaven, and came to earth to be born as a baby and live as a man on this earth.  Hebrews reminds us that we do not have an unsympathetic High Priest.  He lived in this horrible sinful world, he knew pain, he knew heartache, he knew what it was like to have close friends and family die, he knew what it was like to feel helpless like a child.  This Christmas season was a great reminder that I can rely on Jesus, confide in Him, trust in Him, because He lived through all the mess in this world, yet did it perfectly without sin. I was very thankful for that reminder.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Christmas:

The Norman family tradition of cookie making

I love our little Christmas tree from Grandma's :)

Peaches had to be in the middle of everything

My sweet little god daughter, she is growing up so fast!

So thankful Vic was home and we got to spend the holiday with them

Love that happy little face!

She enjoyed entertaining us

Her and Peaches have grown to have an interesting relationship over the past year ;) Peaches usually tries to run away, but sometimes he lets her hug on her

My sweet love, so happy and thankful to have him home!
